I have feared the light all of my life,
It’s powerful gaze, it’s powerful sight
I tried coming close its pained was so much,
The pain was too real for even just one touch.
I tried covering myself in water so black,
It didn’t let go for it pulled me back
I shouted so loud for others to hear,
My voice was too dim, all covered with fear.
I struggled and moved as hard as I could,
The darkness untamed flowing, as I should
Finally I sat there all miserable and cold,
The light tried to shine, though I wasn’t too bold.
I felt weak; depressed everything felt wrong,
Then once heard it more, its most beautiful song
I tried running from darkness its chains were too strong,
Though it was there it’s most beautiful song.
I struggled and moved; finally it was done,
Tired and weak though I just had to run
I followed its voice till I could hear it no more,
Finally I saw it, the light as its very core.
The darkness was following I had to do something,
The light was down there; all I had to do was swing
I jumped there and then, the darkness was late,
I finally found out…the light was so great…
